Honda Civic Gen 10/11 Type R Oil Pan Baffle
If you like driving your Civic Type R or Integra Type S like it's supposed to be driven, THIS IS IMPORTANT! Engine failures due to oil starvation are not a matter of if, they are a matter of when! The Type R/S has no oil pan baffling from the factory and this means it is prone to oil starvation. After we released our 1.5T Civic pan baffles we had lots of Civic Type R and Integra Type S owners reach out to us asking for a baffle for their car... Well after many months of testing we're happy to say we now have a perfected baffle solution for you too!
Our baffle replaces the factory windage tray and features the following:
- 100% bolt in installation
- 8 one way trap doors to allow oil flow towards the pickup tube but not away
- 3 direction oil surge plates that conform tightly to the factory oil pan
- A precise fitting windage tray which greatly reduces oil aeration
- Data that proves how functional it is!
The end result? Higher oil pressure during hard cornering, which means less wear and prolonged engine life! There's no other baffle like ours on the market and we're happy to bring this to the market with rock solid proof that it will keep your engine alive much longer!
So, how about that data?
These before and after numbers are on the same car, same driver, same tires and the same track so it is a perfect A-B comparison. Both of these graphs have over 50k data points, we wanted to get super granular to make sure we didn't miss anything! Without our baffle there are significant drops in oil pressure, enough to cause accelerated wear of bearings and other vital components. After adding our baffle all of the very concerning pressure dips have been eliminated. This is exactly the difference that will keep a hard driven engine alive for a much longer period of time!
NOTE: We strongly recommend rotating the crank by hand after fitting baffle and before reinstalling the oil pan to ensure the connecting rods do not contact the baffle before finalizing the install. We have not had this issue present itself but some rods do run very close to the baffle. Be sure to clean pan, baffle and block mating surface of any oil and foreign material before reinstalling the pan. RTV requires clean, oil free surfaces to cure correctly and form a leak free seal.
