Honda Civic Gen 10/11 Type R Oil Heater Delete

The Wunderladen Racing Type R oil heater delete is unlike any other product on the market for the Type R!

From the factory the K20C1 has an oil heater that flows both engine coolant and oil through it to get the oil up to temperature faster. The downside is once the engine is up to running temp, now the coolant is tasked with trying to remove heat from the oil. This puts extra thermal load on top of an already overtaxed cooling system and if you're tracking your Type R you are probably well aware of how much these cars struggle to keep coolant temps in check on track and quickly get put into limp mode once they get too hot!

The Wunderladen Racing oil heater delete uses the the same oil cooler housing as our oil cooler kit, but comes with plugs for all of the ports. This allows for oil to flow through the housing but still eliminates the coolant circuit to remove thermal load from the cooling system. This kit is intended for those who already have an oil cooler kit but are still struggling with coolant temps. If you don't already have an oil cooler we recommend getting our oil cooler kit or our triple cooler combo.

Note: This does not come with a thermostat like our oil cooler kit because the inlet and outlet ports are plugged. Without an alternate route for the oil to flow through a heat exchanger all oil flow to the engine would be blocked if a thermostat is installed. DO NOT INSTALL A THERMOSTAT IF OUR OIL COOLER HOUSING IS NOT PLUMBED TO A HEAT EXCHANGER

Fitted to fk8 time attack car - coolant temps a lot more stable

This is a piece of art, it’s a shame it’s hidden!

Installed the heater delete - it’s fiddly but doable with some wobble and swivel adapters

Cruising, it’s around 2 degs (note I’m in the uk so these are degrees C not Fahrenheit) cooler - not really much different.

However where it comes into its own is on track, 2 track days in with 500bhp, pushing got 15/20min stints in seeing max so far of 91deg coolant temp, where as before after 10-12mins i would see around 105deg.

Superb work wunderladen racing!
