Honda Civic Gen 10 Transmission Mount Install Guide

This guide will cover all steps to install this product on your vehicle and hopefully answer any questions you may have related to it. - (1) Bushing carrier housing w/bushings and center sleeve
- (2) M10 long bolts
- (2) M10 locknuts
- (1) M12 long bolt
- (1) M12 locknut
- (4) M12 bolts
- (1) Unthreaded spacer
Required Tools:
- Ratchet
- 10mm socket
- 12mm socket
- 15mm socket
- 16mm socket
- 17mm socket
- 19mm socket
- 15mm wrench
- 19mm wrench
- Socket extension (long and short)
- Flat head screwdriver
Installation Steps:
- Remove the silver access panel from the undertray. Use a large flathead screwdriver to remove the 6 quarter turn fasteners (circled in red) and a phillips head screw driver or 10mm socket to remove the 2 bolts (circled in yellow). The panel then slides back and comes down.
- Support the transmission with a jack.
- Disconnect the battery by loosening both battery cables.
- Remove the battery and battery box by removing the battery tie down.
- Disconnect the ECU wiring harness from the ECU.
- Remove the ECU from the car by removing the first bolt circled and loosening the second bolt a few turns. This will allow the ECU to be slid forward and lifted out.
- Disconnect the MAF sensor.
- Remove the engine harness and battery cables from the bracket as shown. A trim tool or pliers will be needed to remove the one expanding clip on the one battery cable.
- Remove the bracket by removing the two 10mm bolts.
- Remove the battery tray by removing the four 10mm bolts and two 12mm bolts shown.
- Remove the electrical ground from the transmission mount by removing the 10mm bolt.
- Relocate the electrical ground to the location shown on the front of the transmission case. Torque the 10mm bolt to 7ft/lbs.
- Loosen the two 12mm bolts holding the battery tray support to the body of the vehicle and remove the support.
- Remove the two 17mm bolts (circled in red) and two 19mm nuts (circled in yellow but not shown) from the transmission mount where it mounts to the transmission.
- Remove the three 17mm bolts holding the transmission mount to the body of the vehicle and remove the transmission mount.
- Use the two factory 19mm nuts to remove both studs from the transmission casing. They will not be reused.
- Assemble the Wunderladen Racing transmission mount as shown. Note that the bushing carried is not symmetrical. Torque the 15mm bolts to 45ft/lbs and the 16mm bolt to 70ft/lbs.
- Install the mount to the transmission with the supplied 17mm bolts. Install the supplied spacer between the mount and transmission at the location shown. Do not torque the bolts yet.
- Install the mount to the vehicle body using the factory 17mm bolts. Torque all three bolts to 55ft/lbs.
- Torque the four 17mm bolts holding the mount to the transmission to 58ft/lbs.
- Reinstall the battery tray support and tighten the two 12mm bolts.
- Reinstall the battery tray and tighten the four 10mm bolts and two 12mm bolts.
- Reinstall the wiring bracket and tighten the two 10mm bolts.
- Clip the wires back into the wiring bracket and plug the MAF sensor back in.
- Install the ECU, tighten the two 10mm bolts and reseat both ECU connectors.
- Reinstall the battery, battery tie down and both battery cables.
- The installation of the mount is complete, remove the jack from supporting the transmission and reinstall the silver access panel, quarter turn fasteners and 10mm/phillips fasteners.
